The Society is gradually researching the names of families in Sawley’s past. We’re starting with a few notable local families and with the names on the War Memorial. Other names will be added as we come across them. Where possible the story of individuals will be linked to other families and to where they lived and worked. Unless specifically authorised by the family, we will not publish anything beyond 1945 which is not already in the public domain.
